Currently SPLIT Multisport is available for the iPhone 5, 4S, 4 and 3G-S models. Future updates may expand to other devices or platforms.
SPLIT is available to track activities for no cost. You can try out SPLIT PRO features for a 30 day free trial. SPLIT PRO gives you access to Journal entries with your past activities as well as external monitor support and advanced charting. These PRO services may be purchased with an In-App Subscription once your 30-day trial ends.
The use of GPS does not require a network connection. The only aspect of SPLIT that uses a network connection while you are running an Activity is the downloading of the Aerial image map which uses very little data.
SPLIT PRO gives you access to:
The Journal where you can view details on all previous activities
The Performance tool where you can compare activities from different sports
Integration with external monitors for heart rate or cadence monitors
After you press Ready, the Activity will automatically begin as soon as you have a GPS connection.
If you would like to manually start your activity you can change this setting in Account > turn Activity Countdown to OFF > Save. This requires that you press and hold the START icon to begin tracking your Activity.
Open Journal > press the "+" sign to manually add an activity. You can also manually add activities within specific sports or in Performance.
After selecting your sport, please select > "Goals & Settings" > enter the goal for distance or time and your pace > then press Ready to begin tracking your Activity.
Open the settings app for your phone > turn Wi-Fi and Notifications to OFF.
Turning 3G OFF can also improve battery life throughout the course of your Activity. Without 3G, the aerial imagery or maps may not fully download.
There are also a number of third party battery cradles that can extend the battery life of your device.
When you are saving an Activity you’ll find a field to enter the information for any additional contacts you may wish to include.
After you have finished your Activity you can select Facebook or Twitter to share your Activity with friends. This step can be completed prior to or after you have saved your event.
If you have already saved your Activity you can share on Facebook, Twitter or via email by opening the Journal > press the Facebook, Twitter or email icon to share.
To change your unit of distance: Open SPLIT > Account (Gear icon) > Unit of Distance > set to Meters/Kilometers > Save > Save.
To change your height, weight or age open SPLIT > Account > Body Metrics > adjust as necessary > Save > Save.
Open SPLIT > press the Settings icon (gear) > External Monitors > make sure "Use External Monitors" is set to ON > if you're using a Bluetooth monitor it will pop up automatically. The ANT+ dongle must be inserted into the base of your iPhone for the device to appear in this list. Then you can begin your Activity.

If you have an account with a different Shotzoom app (such as Golfshot: Golf GPS) then please use the Login option to sign into your existing Shotzoom account
When you first launch the app you will see, "'SPLIT' Would Like to Use Your Current Location". Please press OK. If you select Don’t Allow then the app cannot use the GPS hardware in your device. If you have already disallowed the use of your current location then please exit the SPLIT app > open the phone Settings App > Location Services > turn SPLIT to ON.
First restart your phone.
Then check that your iOS firmware is current. Outdated firmware can result in poor GPS performance.
Please make sure you have SPLIT set to ON in your Location Services Settings: Open the Settings app > Privacy > Location Services > turn SPLIT to ON.
If you already have a Shotzoom account, please be sure to use the Login option to sign into your existing account. The Register option is for new users to create an account.
You can delete an Activity in SPLIT by opening the app > press Journal > swipe side to side over the activity you wish to delete > press the red Delete icon.
SPLIT Multisport GPS allows you to use a cadence sensor when cycling or mountain biking.
For in-house testing we have used the Wahoo Ant+ Cadence Monitor. The app also works with BlueTooth cadence monitors.

Open SPLIT > press the Settings icon (gear) > External Monitors > make sure "Use External Monitors" is set to ON > if you're using a Bluetooth monitor it will pop up automatically. The ANT+ dongle must be inserted into the base of your iPhone for the device to appear in this list. Then you can begin your activity.
SPLIT requires you to press and hold the Start and Stop buttons in order to start and stop your activity. This helps to avoid accidentally touching the screen and ending your activity unintentionally.
To end an activity: press the red X > confirm you wish to End Your Activity by pressing YES > enter your activity details > Save.
